Kamryn Malloy, LPCTherapist
I received my Master’s Degree from Wake Forest University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor through the state of Illinois. I have experience working in inpatient and outpatient levels of care for substance use and co-occurring mental health issues. I enjoy working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and substance use. My approach is gentle, compassionate, and curious as I understand the importance of creating a therapeutic relationship that promotes emotional safety. I believe that everyone is worthy and deserving of having a space to explore the depths and beauties within them.
As Jen Mann once said, “Healing is not about fixing what is broken, but rather nurturing what has been neglected”. I believe this quote perfectly captures my approach to therapy. I utilize ACT, CBT, DBT, IFS, person-centered, trauma-informed, queer-affirming, and somatic based techniques in my practice. In my free-time, I like to play sports, explore different nature trails, and spend time with my 3 cats. I also am a new plant mom, so I am attempting to learn how to keep plants alive… (wish me luck!) |
